Flowery Lavender Caramel
This floral caramel sauce is made with organic lavender extracts and has an incredibly pleasing and palatable taste. The blossoming fragrance of lavender when you open the top is thrilling and the smooth and creamy sauce flows out of the jar like flowery lava. When Chef and owner Michelle Lewis experimented with some leftover caramel she had from baking a cheesecake she could never have expected what not throwing away the scraps was going to do for her. She made her first homemade batch of caramel sauce, gave it to a bunch of friends, and discovered that she may have just created something very special without even meaning to. With a lot of tweaking, taste testing, burnt batches and several bouts of failure, Lewis ultimately made a caramel sauce that would become a great success. When it comes down to it, Lewis’s now booming company “Spoonable” is about using the best quality ingredients, never using preservatives and incorporating both organic and local ingredients.
